Thursday, August 5, 1993 SUN IS SHINING: Students are writing exams, the president is reading grievance committee reports as he sits in his shirtsleeves on the Needles Hall balcony, and the fifth annual Canadian Conference on Computational Geometry is getting started in the Davis Centre. (Information on the geometry conference: ext. 4449.) SOCIAL CONTRACT: Canadian Union of Public Employees local 793 last night ratified a "local agreement" with UW. The content of the agreement hasn't been made public yet but is expected later today. The faculty salary committee is meeting this morning -- negotiators for UW management and the faculty association will see whether they're any less far apart than they were last week.
